Guilty as charged.

I will mend my ways.
Since A-Z I am at a loss for words.  Not with my regular writing but for my blog.
What should I write about - what should I say?
I'm not very interesting.

Why all this sudden remorse?

Kristen Lamb's Blog - Frankenfriends & Zombie Tweets

It is a great blog post and really hit home.  I have been a Zombie Blog and a Frankenfriend.

It you pop on over and read her blog you'll see what I mean.

"Don't Look Down" was born out guilt because I am an intermittent blogger at best and knew I should probably blog something.  AKA Zombie Blog

I've tried to be fairly good about making the rounds.  Though I'll admit I'm not as good as I was during A-Z.  AKA Frankenfriend.

I will fail better.

  1. Quality not quantity I say!

We can only read so many blogs in one day anyway. Just do what you do :)

    1. It helps that my blog isn't a focused blog. It's just random stuff. So random posting works. ;)

  2. I understand those feelings, especially what to blog about after the A to Z. It's like it zapped all your stamina. I've since gotten over that, and am back to blogging normally. :)

With all the great blogs, it does make me wish even more that I'd be able to write (and blog) full-time, without the need for a day job. Working towards the goal, though it might not happen until I retire. :( Writer’s Mark

    1. My preoccupation has been with the new WIP.

It's like having the fat contented cat sitting on the couch, loyal friend for years and then you bring home a kitty. The crazy, cute kitty gets the attention.

That just is not fair to the loyal cat.

  3. I freaked out after my first A-Z. I had new followers, which scared the heck out of me. I imagined that they had huge expectations about my posting frequency and content. Then I realized I'm in charge, and I will post only when it works for me. So far, no one's scolded me

    1. Not at all I enjoy your blog.

Kristen's blog just made me realize that I should probably commit to at least one day a week. If I walk through my life looking for blog fodder - there is so much to be had. I think I just need to keep a notebook for blogginess and not just writing.

When I sit down to write a blog I think - Well, aren't you boring- and yet since I wrote this blog yesterday...there ar things to share. I just needed to open my bloggy eye.

  4. Kristen made me laugh, but I do see those kinds of tweeters and bloggers. I'm still working on finding my blogging and writing balance, but it's almost always my writing that suffers rather than the blog. I feel the need to keep myself out there just in case. And you're not bad like that. Not at all. I hope you find your balance. :)

    1. Balance - that is a good perspective on the whole thing.

  6. The writing you're doing on your WiP is important and those of us out here know that. We'll still be around so don't worry too much about it. :)

    1. Thank you! My goal is to finish my WIP, polish it and be ready for Muse in October. Sounds like so much time to accomplish it, but in reality...

  7. You are not a Frankenfriend! You are awesome and you have stopped by and supported me and for that I am so grateful. But I feel your pain. I have been struggling for a while now to know what to write about and how to keep my blog interesting. Don't worry about visiting everyone. You can visit a few different people everyday. Just as long as you pop in at a few place, you are doing just fine. If you can't, then you can't. Don't stress about it, because you are doing just amazing.

  8. Jai, I did it! I learned all about Frankenfriends and Twitter zombies and now have signed up for two more e-mailed newsletters, thus expanding my e-community of writers and falling behind even more with my goals for tonight! Ice cream and a good book awaits. Thanks for cheering me up (and for liking Oskar). :)

    1. You are welcome for the cheers.

Sorry 'bout the falling behind. =(
But ice cream and a good book. Sounds like a WIN!

  9. "I will fail better," is my new favorite quote. It is my motto at this moment in my life, and I didn't even know it. Jennifer a.k.a Urban Gyspy Girl

    1. I love that quote.
We all fail and will fail again.
It's the getting back up that counts.

  11. Hey there, I enjoy your blog and personality! I know what you mean, tho- I have gotten the same way. We were so insulated in the A-Z, and had alot of company-- but now life is intruding and there are things we just HAVE to deal with. Right now for me, it is finding another place to live! Seems I am spending kamikaze moments online. I still keep up with you, and won't lose contact! Hope all is hunkydory there!

    1. Hi you. All is hunky dory here. A house hunt is not an easy thing. I wish you success!!

We will stay in touch. e-mail is another thing I am not great at checking, I get caught up in my story, look up at the clock and time is gone. So if it is a day or two before I respond, don't worry. = )

  12. Hi, I can totally relate to this post. That is part of why I am taking a blogging vacation. I've gone back and forth with posting regularly and reading/commenting on tons of blogs, then pulling back over the two years I've been blogging and I've found that no matter what, you get out of it what you put into it and it's all up to you. For me, and my family, blogging gets too much sometimes. It's important to remember that you gotta do things in the real world sometimes, get exercise, visit friends, etc. That said, I actually liked your post about work. My workplace recently transitioned to a more paperless mode and it does have its issues.

    1. It is tough to go paperless. The first company I was at that tried it. Well, the whole thing was laughable. It was baby steps, though and every little bit helps.
