Followers Blog Hop

Thanks to Mel Chelsey for her blog hop.  It's an opportunity to meet new people and gather followers.

Times they are a changing.

Back in the day if you saw my toes in the summer all you would see is a peek of the big toe, maybe its sister. I had the hardest time buying sandals that covered more than they revealed. In my estimation I had troll feet. These things should not be shared. There is not a pedicurist in the universe that can fix troll feet.

I mentioned my paranoia to a co-worker several years back. She laughed at me and said, "Troll feet? Do you want to see troll feet?" She slipped her toes out of her skimpy sandal and displayed for my viewing pleasure her troll feet. Amazingly, they really were.

Do you remember troll dolls? She had their feet. She slipped her foot back in her sandal thinking she had quashed my fears, but alas I was still too timid to share my feet.

This morning as I was deciding what to wear I realized that at some point I vaulted passed the troll foot stage and into the here are my toes, love 'em, hate 'em, ignore 'em. Doesn't matter.

One day I hope to achieve this same sense of:  Here it is, with my writing.

  2. Hello, Jai! Lovely to meet you! Here via the Followers Blog Hop and delighted to be connecting with another wanna-be writer.

I SO relate. But you know what's been helping me? Writing! Much like wearing sandals until the anxiety of doing such vanishes, writing and sharing it with everyone has been inoculating me against the fear of sharing my writing, and even starting to give me confidence that my writing isn’t so troll-like after all.

So were those sandals and share those stories. The more you do it, the better you’ll feel!

    Thanks,
    Bev

  4. Your feet are fine! I grew up barefoot, so I never cared what they looked like. But it is funny how many people are embarressed by their feet. I used to LOVE those troll dolls. My mom came across one with blue hair in her downsizing & I refused to let her part with it. So it is living in a teapot... Hiphopping around today & you are my first stop of course!!

    1. I grew up barefoot too. I'm not sure at what age I decided my feet were unacceptable.

I always loved those troll dolls. Glad you were able to keep your blue haired lovely.

  6. Aww, I don't think they are troll feet. I have freakishly long toes, make my feet look like an extra pair of hands. xD Thanks for being part of the hop!

    1. It will come, "all in good time, my pretty" evil witch laugh.

I think it will when we least expect it. Just like my Florida feet. It would be great to be on the beach right now.

  8. I may not have troll feet, but my toes are not straight and that's not a pretty sight either. Everyone in my family has it.

  11. LOL, I don't think you have troll feet. And in reality there are very few people with cute feet. I have stubby little toes and callouses from running. Enjoy flipflops and sandals anyway!

I've followed you here and on twitter. Nice to meet you!

  16. Oh how funny!! Troll feet! If those were your feet in the picture, they didn't look like troll feet!! I love my feet! Ha Ha I have a thing about not getting them dirty, and my feet must always be cleaned before I go to bed. Weird, but I don't sleep well with dirty feet.

    Cute post, and I joined!

  18. Hi, Jai, it's nice to meet you! I'm from the blog hop as well. LOL I remember those troll dolls from WAY back in the day. I've never really had an issue with showing my feet in public, though they aren't my favorite part of my body.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!
