Getting ready for camp

I've been a bad blogger and I'm afraid that I can't promise to be better.

I'm gearing up for Camp Nano

 and I'm not going to make myself crazy like I did in April. ;))

Getting ready for camp is fun.

Besides deciding what story to write

You have to pack your clothes.

 

Lay in supplies for the month.

 

Coffee, coffee and more coffee

 

 

Fast snacks - relatively healthy

 

Protein powder makes for fast meals and no meal planning.

 

Don't worry I eat my vegetables too.

 

 

Well, it can't ALL be healthy. 

 

 

Did I mention lots of coffee?

 

 

Gotta pack the portable story making device.

 

 

The most important step.

Lock your internal editor out of the cabin/tent/house. 

 

 

Send him on a vacation.

Tie him up and stuff him under the bed.

Whatever it takes.

For one month just say NO to the internal editor

 

 

I saw this and wondered if this was a sign that I should change my story.

 

 

 

Naw,  probably not.

It can't be much of a zombie killa as it isn't dented.

Maybe they back over the zombies.  I didn't check the rear.

 

I will try to stop by once a week to peek in on you and let you know how it's going.

 

 

 

 

Oh yes I did

Madeline over at Shellshank Redemption was talking about getting out of our comfort zones from time to time.   I was commenting how I tend to be a fuddy duddy and seldom venture out of my comfort zone.  But that's not entirely true. 

I told you all about my troll toes. 
Susan at The Word Is... said, "Paint your toenails and show 'em off!"


This weekend my daughter and I got a mani/pedi and I decided to do something bold. 
I'm generally a more neutral kind of gal.  But not this time I painted 'em and there is no missing 'em.

In my defense the color in the bottle looked like a deeper green. 

I feel a little bit like I should be out stalking leprechauns or something.

Followers Blog Hop

Thanks to Mel Chelsey for her blog hop.  It's an opportunity to meet new people and gather followers.


Times they are a changing.

Back in the day if you saw my toes in the summer all you would see is a peek of the big toe, maybe its sister. I had the hardest time buying sandals that covered more than they revealed. In my estimation I had troll feet. These things should not be shared. There is not a pedicurist in the universe that can fix troll feet.

I mentioned my paranoia to a co-worker several years back. She laughed at me and said, "Troll feet? Do you want to see troll feet?" She slipped her toes out of her skimpy sandal and displayed for my viewing pleasure her troll feet. Amazingly, they really were.

Do you remember troll dolls? She had their feet. She slipped her foot back in her sandal thinking she had quashed my fears, but alas I was still too timid to share my feet.

This morning as I was deciding what to wear I realized that at some point I vaulted passed the troll foot stage and into the here are my toes, love 'em, hate 'em, ignore 'em. Doesn't matter.

 

One day I hope to achieve this same sense of:  Here it is, with my writing. 

 

 

National Donut Day

 

Yes, Please!!

 

Just my opinion, but on National Donut Day 

the last person to the office should purchase donuts for the ENTIRE office.

With the first person to the office getting the pick of the lot.

 

I'm just saying -

If there are rules on National Donut Day this should #1.

All in all it has been a great month for me.  I've been writing consistently, though not mass quantities. 

 

I am gearing up for Camp NaNo in July.  I started the discovery process about a week ago and have begun fleshing out my characters.  I will use June to get everything in order for a July 1 start.

 

All in all a great May.
